If you cannot immediately care for your received roses, you can store them in the cooler section of your fridge, this will delay bacterial growth.

Our roses are cultivated by Producnorte, located in Ayora-Cayambe, 60 minutes north of Quito, five minutes north of the Equator and more than 10.000 feet above sealevel.

This high altitude combined with constant 12 hours days gives their roses the most ideal environment to develop into long stems, large and multipetaled heads.

Roses are grown Hydroponically, which is more environmentally friendly.

How to care for cut roses

Remove leaves that will be immersed in water, wet leaves encourage bacterial growth..
Leave the thorns intact, detached thorns can reduce the life of roses.

Sever an inch of stem from the bottom end, use a serrated knife or scissors to cut of the end on a slant.

Keep the roses in a warm solution with flower preservative.

If your roses show signs of wilting at an early stage,it could be that air got into the stems, to remedy this recut another inch and place back in the preservative solution.

LARGE COLLECTION OF BONSAI

I just visited my old Bonsai supplier and came back with some amazing pieces.

All have lots of character and would make a great corporate gift.

Most are of the Juniper variety and would do well in most environments with a minimal maintenance.

Come check it out. bonsai

MAY IS LILAC MONTH

There is nothing better than a large bouquet of lilacs on the kitchen table.

Select flowers that have almost all flowerets open.

Trim back most of the leaves and cut with a sharp knife on an angle.

Do not smash the stem, this will obstruct the water intake.

Add a flower preservative (for woody stems) and watch the water in your vase(should be full at all times).

To extend the vase life keep the flowers in a cool location, away from direct sunlight.
